Release Alert (4/17/10): Air Jordan VI Retro ‘Pistons’

Anytime Jordan Retros are released, the world outside of the sneakers ceases to matter at least for a few hours.  The next installment to be released will be the Air Jordan VI Retro ‘Pistons’ colorway.  Fear not MJ fans, these kicks are not paying homage to the old “Bad Boys” crew of Lambier, Rodman, and Mahorn.  The aptly named ‘Pistons’ colorway is simply paying tribute to another one of those teams that Michael dropped 60+ on during his career, an honor that I’m sure the franchise could do without.

The mostly black upper is comprised of nubuck and patent leather.  The midsole is dressed with grey, red, white, and blue (with black speckles), resting on top of a clear and red outsole.  We also see a definitive signature Jumpman logo doused in blue on both the tongue and outsole with a red logo etched onto the heel counter.  The grey/blue tongue and heel tab are both composed of rubber and were built specifically to make the task of actually putting on the sneaker a much easier.  The Retro VI comes outfitted with a polyurethane midsole cushioning system, a heel Vis-air bag, and a standard forefoot Air bag.

The Air Jordan VI Retro ‘Pistons’ will undoubtedly be gaudily packaged in the usual double box format and are set for release on April 17, 2010, priced at $150.00 at the House of Hoops.  You will want to check with your local HOH to see if they will be getting a shipment of these kicks because they are sure to vanish quicker than Charles Barkley’s intelligence – and that’s saying a lot.  Go cop a pair!
