We first introduced the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Ink’ about six weeks ago and since then, we’ve also been eagerly anticipating its release. However, the final production version that will be dropped this Friday, November 5th, 2010 has one significant difference and if I may say so, it’s an awesome upgrade that Nike saved for one of the last colorways of a collection that has been nothing short of remarkable.
Dark purple or ink rather, still paints about 90% of the entire shoe. The upper was given a combination glossy and matte finish with reptilian skin encasing the Flywire. Black accents appear through the midsole, inner lining and laces while the Swoosh, Sheath and Kobe’s signature provide us with hints of metallic silver. Now, getting to the cherry on this colorway, check out the translucent purple outsole. On other colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe V that featured clear outsoles (Dark Knight, All-Star, Playoff Pack, Big Stage Road), they all had a light grey tint to them. But with this ‘Ink’ colorway, Nike opted for a colored translucent version that blends to perfectly with the rest of the shoe.
The Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant himself confirmed that the ‘Ink’ version we see here is in fact the final production version because he rocked this colorway last Friday night during the game at the Suns in which the Lakers won 114-106. Kobe also happened to abuse Grant Hill and Goran Dragic for much of the night in these very kicks.
So yes, we can expect the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Ink’ to be released this Friday, November 5th, 2010 at your local retailers, but if you can’t wait, snatch a pair off eBay right now below!
