The Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ still holds claim to being the source of one of the most chaotic sneaker releases ever, if not the absolute craziest. From stories of angry fans bum-rushing the stores upon hearing that the kicks were sold out to multiple stories of being chased by would-be thieves in the parking lot after copping a pair, there are plenty of sneaker tales to go around. While the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Space Jam’ most likely won’t be the catalyst for such upheaval, these kicks are pretty sweet themselves.
The upper makes use of hard mesh wrapped up by multiple panels of black patent leather. We can see the signature blue from the ‘Space Jam’ theme on the tongue, highlighting the Nike branding label that is stitched on, and on the heel tab. The midsole is a clean, unmistakable white while the outsole is my all-time favorite, translucent! It’s nice that much like its Air Jordan XI counterpart, the Nike SB version doesn’t do anything over the top, the color contrasts are subtle, but solid, and it’s just not hard to appreciate the final product.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Space Jam’ will drop this Saturday, July 23, 2011 at retailers nationwide so make sure you check your spots for these shoes! Does this version stack up well against the one Michael Jordan made us all go crazy for?
