2001 Western Conference Semifinals Game 4 (Lakers at Kings)

If you’re an avid fan of NBA basketball, you know as well as anyone else that it takes an incomprehensible amount of skill, talent and energy for a player to out-do himself in the playoffs, especially from one game to the next. Well, in 2001, that’s exactly what a 22-year old Kobe did to the Sacramento Kings. In a year when the Lakers just torched through the Western Conference playoffs with an unreal undefeated record, the Mamba was undoubtedly at the forefront of much of the success and in Game 4, he dropped a sultry 48 points and grabbed 16 boards after having gone for 36, 7 and 4 in Game 3.

Wearing The KOBE by adidas in a specialty mesh colorway (one of my favorites from the line), Sacramento had no chance as they literally had zero answers for him on defense. Doug Christie and Vlade Divac got to know Kobe uncomfortably well that day, that’s for sure.
