Deron Williams Besiktas Turkey Basketball Footage Hits Web

httpvhd://youtu.be/EWonZP0KTIM

Deron Williams, superstar point guard from the New Jersey Nets, surprised the basketball world a couple of months ago when he declared that he would be joining Turkish basketball club, Besiktas for approximately $200,000 a month.  It was shocking not because an NBA player decided to go overseas, but the fact that it was him.  Before the ultra-accelerated rise of Derrick Rose, D Will was arguably the top point guard in the NBA given his combination of size, passing ability and knack for scoring.

Today, footage from Deron’s first game as the unquestioned best player of Besiktas against Montepaschi Sienna hit the Internet.  Whoever shot the video actually did a great job in keeping the camera calm and we can see clear shots of D Will doing what he does, dropping dimes and playing strong when he drives inside.  I certainly hope that the experience is enriching for him and that he avoids any injuries because he is one of my favorite players in the NBA.  You can’t blame the guy for wanting to stay in basketball shape and level up his game.  Regardless of location, he’s playing a respected professional league so it definitely can’t hurt.

Do you think Deron Williams made the right decision?
