Air Jordan 2012 Officially Unveiled

Last year, we saw Jordan Brand change the whole performance scene when they introduced interchangeable midsoles with the Jordan 2011. It created a new system that captivated many basketball players, allowing them to fully customize their cushioning. Even if the shoe didn’t go too well with die-hard collectors, it was made to perform on the court and it did exactly that. This year, Jordan Brand raised the bar even higher with the Jordan 2012, which features three  interchangeable midsoles and two inner booties. Whether you are a fast-cutting point guard or more of post player that needs  impact protection, the Jordan 2012 has you covered.

The Jordan 2012 deluxe system will include two different inner sleeves and three different midsoles offering the most options in the market today. The green midsole “Play Around” features a heel zoom bag that allows a player to remain low to the ground while providing a lightweight-responsive feel. The blue “Fly Over” midsole offers a combination of articulated Zoom Air in the forefoot and also a encapsulated Air Sole unit in the heel offering maximum protection and response. Lastly, the orange “Fly Through” midsole contains a full-length encapsulated Air Sole unit presenting you with maximum impact protection and cushioning.

Unlike the Jordan 2011 last year, the Jordan 2012 features a “Fit System” containing two inner sleeves that comes with the deluxe package. The  mid-top inner sleeve allows the ankle to move more freely for quicker and faster moves. The high-top inner sleeve gives you a more one-to-one fit, more cushion around the ankles, and a strap to keep your heel locked in place.

The two designers behind the shoe were none other than the legendary Tinker Hatfield and Jordan Brand’s Senior Footwear Designer Tom Luedecke.  Both designers made sure the shoe used high quality materials along with the latest sneaker technology.  The Jordan 2012 features Flywire technology fused with a full-grain leather upper, and midfoot plate dubbed “Flight Carbon”, which is composed of carbon fiber and glass, providing ideal support during play.

The Air Jordan 2012 Flight System will be available on February 25th for $180.00 USD with  one inner sleeve and midsole.  The Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe System will feature all three midsoles and two inner sleeves retailing at $223.00 and is available today, February 8th.
