Dwyane Wade has been criticized by a few sneaker heads about him not wearing his signature shoes as of late. Instead of wearing his own Jordan Fly Wade 2, Wade has been rocking the Air Jordan “Last Shot” XIV’s as they close out their regular season. Despite this, Jordan is releasing a secondary Wade model in time for Summer called Jordan D’Reign, designed for those who love playing outdoor basketball.
The shoe features an “Away” color scheme that combines a Hyperfuse upper and a slick patent leather cut on the toebox. Hints of yellow and red can be found on the tongue, stitching, heel, and outsole of the shoe. Just like the Fly Wade 2, an oversized Jumpman logo is displayed on the rear side panel. It’s not common for basketball shoes to have an XDR (Extra Durable Rubber) here in the U.S. because most companies produce shoes for indoor only. In Asia, most people play outdoor basketball, so most of the shoes released overseas feature this XDR outsole. It will be interesting to see how the shoe is marketed State-side. So for those who love playing on the blacktop, stay tuned for this release in the upcoming months.
