The Air Jordan 2 with its intricate silhouette and clever usage of faux python leather and the first introduction of the Air Jordan Wings Logo has many OG collectors always on the hunt for the older colorways. The quality was very immaculate on the Jordan 2s so it was known to the sneaker community as the first luxury basketball sneaker.

History
After all the controversy with the Jordan 1 for having too much black on it, with the second installment of the Jordan line they took a different approach on the original colors they released. Besides the color of the shoes changing, the technology of the shoe changed a bit as well. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, the Jordan 2s featured a plastic molded heel cup for stability and full length Air unit on the midsole to cushion Jordan’s foot after breaking it. The quality and craftsmanship was forged by the legendary shoemakers of Italy.
Jordan only wore these in 18 games; he didn’t wear them very much because of his broken foot he had suffered. However, he did wear them during the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest and won his first dunk title. This is when he displayed his famous free throw line dunk against the likes of legends such as Clyde “the Glide” Drexler.
