Nike plans to honor Black History Month by releasing the BHM Collection in February and some of the products they plan to release are impressive. Nike’s collection plans to honor athletes who have succeeded at the highest level with hard work and dedication, inspired by a legacy of Pan-African achievement. Nike has decided to recognize LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Allyson Felix, Maya Moore and Ishod Wair. All have been perfect examples of dominating at the highest level and doing so with a relentless work ethic, but more importantly they have all been great role models on and off the court.
The BHM Collection will include 23 products ranging from footwear to apparel and equipment. The theme of the collection is Sports Royalty and the colors being featured are purple, burgundy, gold, black, and grey. Each product will have the new BHM print graphic. Nike will donate one hundred percent of net proceeds (up to $1 Million) to the Nike Ever Higher Fund. The fund will help underprivileged communities to help the youth gain the necessary tools and resources to become leaders through the power of sport.
This will be the fourth year Nike will be honoring Black History Month and the collection will debut on January 20 which is Martin Luther King Day. You can catch some of the products during some NBA games that day, but the entire collection will be available on February 1st and some select Nike locations.
