The Kobe 9 Elite Masterpiece will finally be released tomorrow. Today, we had an exclusive sneak peek at the Kobe 9 Elite NRG colorway.
The Kobe 9 Elite NRG colorways was exclusively released in New York City, but on February 1st, 2014, the Nike Vault in Los Angeles raffled 24 pairs of the white/volt and black/silver NRG colorway. Only 24 total pairs were available, but over 250 people entered the raffle in hopes of being one of the first people in California to own a pair.
Luckily for us, we were able to get our hands on a pair. We had the luxury of examining the black/grey NRG colorway and they were as good as advertised. First and foremost, this shoe is surprisingly light. While you expect this shoe to be much heavier than his previous low top shoes, the first thing I noticed and was surprised by was how light it is. Even though I obviously knew the shoe incorporates Flyknit, I was still expecting it to feel a little bulky and on the heavier side since the tongue goes up to the ankle. The lockdown also felt great and more importantly it feels like it’s an extension of your foot, which might be the ultimate selling point.
