Kicks on Deck: Nike Kobe 9 EM Low “Peach Cream”

Welcome to another “episode” if you will, of Kicks on Deck via our Kicksologists YouTube channel.  Kicks on Deck is a video series in which we showcase our latest picks ups.  Today we have a shoe from Champs Sports who were kind enough to send these over, the Nike Kobe 9 EM Low “Peach Cream”.

As you may already know, this version of the Kobe 9 uses a Engineered Mesh (EM) for its upper versus its Elite counterpart which uses Nike Flyknit.  Both perform in a similar manner so don’t expect a performance review for these, if at all.  Cushion is the same, traction is the same, weight might be different but I don’t have exact numbers at the moment.  My guess is that the EM would be a tad lighter than the Flyknit due to no Hyperfuse backing layer.  The Elite version of the Kobe 9 has a layer of fuse behind it to keep it sturdy and stable.  If it were just like Flyknit found in Nike running shoes, the foot would not be stable enough for on-court use.

Personally, this ‘Peach Cream’ grew on me slowly as I didn’t find the shoe that attractive, mostly due to the weird color of the outsole.  If it was white, I definitely would have bought this myself.  Thankfully, Champs Sports sent these over as it became my first Kobe 9 EM model.  I haven’t gotten the chance to play in these yet, but I definitely will be giving my thoughts on it very soon, and possibly a performance review.  Check out the video aboveas well as the detailed images above for an inside look on the sneaker.
