Finally, finally… finally, Nike Basketball has brought out a brand new model for the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant. Nike only has two models currently out stateside, the signature model Kobe 9 and the outdoor Venomenon sneaker. I’ve always wanted to see Nike come out with a take-down model for Kobe as the market needs more basketball performance sneakers inspired by the Mamba.

The Nike KB Mentality looks very similar to the Kobe 5 model as its silhouette is almost identical. As with most Nike models, the upper features a seamless hyperfuse material combined with what appears to be mesh. Outside panels showcase a unique pattern never seen before resembling a warrior look as well as a white outsole. Lunarlon could be the main cushion for this model as the midsole has that distinct Lunar design. It also appears to be a very low-cut shoe making it possibly the lowest Kobe model yet. Keep in
What’s most interesting about this colorway is the “4AM” theme that is derived from the 2012 Olympic story from one of Kobe Bryant’s trainers. Long story short, Kobe called his trainer up around 4AM to come train in the gym, while the rest of the players were fast asleep. Kobe didn’t leave the gym at all as he got 800 shots up that morning. It says a lot about the Black Mamba and his work ethic so this model is all about having that same Mamba “Mentality” on court.
The Nike KB Mentality is expected to release next year in 2015. Keep in mind that this may be an outdoor model to be only released in Asia, but no official word yet from Nike on what type of sneaker this will be.
