Who knew that at the age of 36, the Black Mamba would be the leading scorer in the NBA? Having played 20 games, he is averaging 25.8 points, yet the Playoffs are still far away from reach. We all are aware of his mental toughness during these difficult times, especially that his career is winding down to the last couple seasons. Despite his hardships with the team and recent attacks from fans and the media, No. 24’s will power continues to show on court.
Nike Basketball is now bringing that same Kobe Mentality to the feet of the Mamba Army in a new model to the Kobe signature line. We have an exclusive look only here on Kicksologists with these “Blackout” colorway of the new Nike KB Mentality that is already released in some parts in Asia. Aside from his main signature model the Nike Kobe 9 and the outdoor Venomenon line, this Nike KB Mentality will be the third Kobe model.

Judging from the outsole, the KB Mentality might possibly be another outdoor sneaker as the grooves for traction is very aggressive, thick, and non-pliable. I’m sure these might still be appropriate for indoor use, however, it is too early to tell. The silhouette is very simple and Kobe-esque. Nike went with another low-top sneaker as Kobe probably suggested and features what looks to be a full-length Lunarlon insole, similar to the Kobe 8 and 9 series. The upper is made out of a hyperfuse, mesh, and a foam-backing material seen on the tongue. There hasn’t been an outdoor shoe from Nike that uses a Lunarlon setup so these would be great for those who want to take the Kobe 9 experience outdoors. I also have been told that the sizing fits pretty small, like a half size small.
The Nike KB Mentality has no official release date for the U.S, however it should be prior to Summer 2015. Price should be around the same price as the Venomenon which is around $120.00 USD.
