First, police were called to the Willowbrook Mall in Houston to break up the line for raffle tickets. Customers were tossing rocks and shoving each other as the wait became too long:

The following day, police in Ohio had to break up an unruly crowd outside of the Franklin Park mall where customers at Finish Line were pepper sprayed after they broke down barricades that knocked police officers to the ground.
In Chesterfield, Va, a man posed as a store employee passing out tickets and charging victims $50 with the promise that they’ll get the shoe at the store.
On the day of the launch, Pittsburgh police were called to break up a fight that was caused by cutting in line. The store quickly figured out that giving slips to customers was the best way to control these lines.
