This past week, NBA Lakers Nick Young and Wesley Johnson debuted the Nike Kobe X on court. Due to a season ending surgery, the signature athlete himself, Kobe Bryant, had to watch at home while his two teammates debuted in his own shoe. The official release of the shoe isn’t until Saturday but over the weekend we got our first hands-on look at the All-Star Game colorway with a full video.
Here we have a look at the upcoming “Persian Violet” or Lakers Away colorway for the Kobe X. The shoe is simple and doesn’t take much to know that this is meant for that Lakers road jersey. Nike Basketball hasn’t been so fond of the Purple and Gold colors as of late, so this purple colorway will make many fans happy. The textile upper is done in a Persian Violet with different shades of purple throughout. Swoosh is done in a black matte finish, that can possibly be 3M as well. A translucent outsole allows much transparency for any hooper to see the tech within the sneaker as the Zoom Max and Lunarlon work together as a system. To top it off, four red stitches are seen on the left heel symbolizing the four feet of stitching thread during Kobe’s Achilles surgery.
The Nike Kobe 10 “Persian Violet” will release February 21st, for $180.00 USD at select Nike retailers as a general release.
