Breast Cancer month is still months away, but Nike has been releasing Kevin Durant’s Kay Yow shoes during this time of year. Last year, Nike dropped the Nike KD 6 Aunt Pearls and those did really well. To this day, the KD 6 Aunt Pearls hold a huge place in my heart and is by far my favorite Aunt Pearl yet. On personal level, breast cancer affects so many lives around the world and for Nike to team up with the Kay Yow Cancer fund is a beautiful thing. My mother had breast cancer back in 2003 so for me to get shoes to represent and show awareness is great.
This is my first KD 7 model so I haven’t had any experience with the shoe at all. I’ve tried them on in stores, but didn’t feel like I wanted to play in them on court. My foot sits a little too high off the ground for my liking and with this Aunt Pearl colorway being mostly white, I’ll probably hold off until I find them in outlets. As for the shoe itself, this Aunt Pearl colorway is sweet. Some people don’t really dig the winged strap, but I find it unique and it symbolizes more than just looks. Lot’s of great details on the shoe all around.
Nike 180 Zoom Max bag in the heel and Zoom Air in the forefoot create a very comfortable ride. The heel lacks some security, however they do tell me to give it some time. Check out the video below as I go through each angle and detail of the Nike KD 7 Aunt Pearl.
