Jimmy Butler Left adidas & Money For Jordan Brand

adidas has a bright future behind Derrick Rose, John Wall, and Damian Lillard. They also have a bunch of point guards like Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry, Jeff Teague, Ricky Rubio, Jrue Holiday, Darren Collison, and many more young guns. The best part is that most of those guys led their teams to post season births. They also have the newest Rookie of the Year, Andrew Wiggins.

While adidas has made its rise in the basketball world, they lost a major rising star. Before the season, Derrick Rose’s teammate and soon to be free agent, Jimmy Butler left the Three Stripes and joined Jordan Brand. Fitting with his Chicago Bulls uniform, Butler apparently took a hit to rock the Jumpman.

According to Danny Ecker of Chicago Business, Jimmy Butler turned down alot of money to be happy with his kicks:

Out of personal preference, he opted to drop Adidas as his official apparel brand in favor of Nike’s Jordan brand last year, taking what Walters says was a 75 percent pay cut.

adidas has shown no hesitation to spend money on players to endorse the brand. This season Butler helped lead the Bulls into the post season. Playing without Derrick Rose, Butler was able to shine and received this season’s Most Improved Player award. It won’t be known if he’s staying in the Chi, but we are assured that he will receive a max contract.
