While Under Armour tries to steal some of Nike’s basketball market share, nothing major will happen anytime soon. Nike still has the best players on the planet and will continue to profit and rack in the big bucks.

As of now, it looks like Nike plans on expanding their signature player’s branding . Right now, there’s Kobe Bryant which has three models, LeBron James with three, Kevin Durant with two, and Kyrie with his first and only. KD also has the Trey5, while LeBron’s name is tacked on the ever so popular Soldiers and Ambassadors.

This year’s Kobe X released for $180 and the Elites run for $225. The Mentality released at $100 and these Venomenon are $120 which is still higher than the Kyrie 1’s retail price point. Even with Kobe missing the rest of the season, Nike has dropped the latest affordable Kobe shoe. The Venomenon 5 is available in the University Gold with Bright Crimson and Black accents. Right now they’re available in stores at Footlocker!
