Under Armour struck first by hosting the NBPA with the top 100 high school players. At that camp, they handed out special editions of the Curry One for the future stars. Nike’s EYBL program is nothing new and this year they spoiled their campers.
Hosted in the new Barker Hanger, Santa Monica housed the top high school recruits. The players got the new KD 8 which looks like the V8 Camero inspired colorway with a special branding on the tongue, the Kyrie 1 came in a Charlie Brown esque colorway, and the LeBron Soldier 9 has a Kobe 6 ‘Sunset’ feel.
Many current NBA players came out to see the kids such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant while some ran games and played too. DeMarcus Cousins and Paul George are a few Nike athletes to join the festivities. Former NBA players were there to run the basketball camp to make sure the players kept the fundamentals while improving their game.
Durant was seen in the first colorway of the KD 8, the USA themed Fourth of July while Paul George was lacing up the new 2015 Hyperdunk low. After a bit of noise from Under Armour and adidas, Nike is ready to raise the bar with their latest basketball collection.
Only the elite know they can get better. #NikeBasketballAcademy
