The Nike Kobe A.D. continues to roll on into the post-season with this new Lakers colorway. For years, the Kobe line has drawn away from the traditional purple and gold accents for some unknown reason. Nike is finally answering back to the loyal Kobe enthusiast with this Purple Stardust dropping in the coming weeks.
Never seen before, this taro-like colorway (if you’re into the Boba drinks) also known as Purple Stardust as Nike is calling it, fills the upper. The purple stretches along the mesh on the upper to the premium suede around the collar and the laces. Black encompasses the branding on the Swoosh and the Kobe sheath logo on the tongue. Lastly, Nike blacked out the outsole adding a translucent bottom to it as well along with speckles throughout the midsole.
What’s great is that they included a Yellow Shozoku logo into the insole as this hasn’t been seen in a long time. Not sure why Nike decides to retract from signature athletes team colors. Instead, they create their own patterns and color combinations that merely have zero correlation to their respective home towns or NBA team.
Nonetheless, we have ourselves our first Nike Kobe A.D. Purple Stardust dropping as a general release in the coming weeks. Price will be $160.00 USD. Stay tuned for more information here on Kicksologists.com.
