Kyrie Irving Unveils ‘Bruce Lee’ Inspired Kyrie 3 Sneakers

Kyrie Irving has been the topic of interest for the last several weeks.  His request for trade has got the association in a blender as this news came out of nowhere.  Regardless of what happens, the fact of the matter is that Kobe Bryant and Kryie Irving’s relationship is strong and well.  Mamba Mentality runs through Kyrie Irving’s veins as the former NBA champ revealed his new set of Bruce Lee inspired sneakers for his signature line.

If you are not familiar with the Bruce Lee line with Kobe, it all started with the Nike Zoom Kobe 5.  Since then, iterations of the sneaker went on to the Kobe 9, Kobe 11, and even the Hyperdunk 2016.  All versions have been great, however this marks the first time the Kill Bill inspired anthem landed on a non-Kobe model.

Kyrie Irving talks about his relationship in the video,

It started off as just an idea. I was 17 years old playing in the Nike extravaganza in California. I ended up wearing these Nike Kobe Bruce Lee editions for that game. We ended up winning and from that point on it was hands down my favorite shoe ever.

This is for the culture and it’s by the culture and I’m glad we could all push it together.  I’m excited to show you guys what we have in store.

The Nike Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee features a dominant Yellow base with the classic Black trimmings on it just like the original.  The color blocking on is done so well, it already is a better iteration than the previous Kobe remasters.  Nike switched it up with a gradient midsole that fades along both medial and lateral sides adding a nice touch.  Lastly, you have the iconic Red scratch marks on the front toe panels to finish off this legendary colorway for the Swoosh brand.

It’s quite astonishing to see another NBA superstar bringing back another man’s sneaker in this form.  Usually, signature athletes create their own identity within their brand, not saying Kyrie hasn’t, but it is nice to see him pay tribute to his idol, Kobe Bryant.  As he mentioned in the video, he wore the Kobe 5 Bruce Lee during his High School days at a Nike basketball tournament.  It has been his favorite sneaker since.

The Nike Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee has no official information yet on price or a drop date.  Since he did make a public video, we do expect Nike to drop these in the future during the new season.  It would look great in the new Nike Cavalier uniforms… that’s if he stays in Cleveland.  Keep it locked here for more information as it becomes available.
