The year 2011 was arguably the biggest year for Jordan Brand in recent memory. Not only was this the peak of Nike Basketball and the retro era for Jordan, but it also marked the third release of the iconic Jordan 11 Concord. The Concord release had everyone and their family camping out for the sneakers. Then it was also the start of raffles for stores like Foot Locker, Finish Line, and other major retailers. I won’t even get into the bots, but thankfully that time is slowly passing by.
Since then, Jordan followed with a “Bred” release in 2012 and last year the “Space Jam” colorway. In between those years, JB dropped several new additions to the Retro 11 line, but nothing close to the popularity of the original Chicago Bull models.
Word from popular leaker accounts like @zsneakerheadz and @pinoe77 on Instagram have implied that the release will be dropping in 2018. Obviously, take it as a rumor for now as plans can always change.
This year, Jordan Brand plans to drop two Retro 11’s in an all Gym-Red colorway and a similar Blue Navy that is awfully similar to the Concord. Nevertheless, it isn’t the first time a retro returns after a seven year hiatus. However, it is a bit early to talk about next years release at this time. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
No images have surfaced yet for the 2018 Concord 11 yet. Photos below are of the 2011 and 2000 retros.
