Since this is Nike’s 20th anniversary of the Air Max 97, they have been releasing several different color variations of the classic Air Max model, with the next release being a premium model. This model, covered mostly in black, provides the wearer with the same comfort and sleek design of the traditional 97, but adds gold hits throughout the sneaker, visible only to a flash or special lighting. These gold hits are visible on the full air bubble, the midfoot panel behind the Nike swoosh, the label on the tongue, as well as one of the piping lines on the upper surrounding the shoe.
With this presumably being one of the last iterations of this model from Nike this year, they are sure to go out with a bang. These were released on Black Friday, and some locations have sold out, however others may still have selected sizes. Some of the previous versions of the Air Max 97 have sold out this year, and there shouldn’t be any surprise that these may follow that trend, especially depending on how limited them make this colorway.
These are available now for $170 retail, and will include the same packaging as most of the previous Air Max Make 97’s to release this year. Make sure to stay up to date on any future release information for any gift ideas for this holiday season.
