Following the release of the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Gatorade”, or as some are calling it, the “Like Mike” 6 Retro, Jordan Brand is schedule to drop another Gatorade-inspired 6 Retro. This sneaker, which some are titling the “Green Gatorade” 6 Retro, is set to be much more limited than the white and orange pair that drops November 15.
The 6 Retro NRG “Gatorade” pair is going to be covered in an all-green suede, with orange accents on the midsole of the shoe. The lace locks are dressed in green and orange, as is the back pull tab. The shoelaces are all green, and the outsole of the sneaker features the normal translucent pods that are found on almost every 6 Retro. One interesting aspect of this pair is the message that is found behind the tongues of each shoe. Tying back to the original commercial that Gatorade did with Michael Jordan, the tongue reads “If I Could Be…”. This commercial was released in 1992, a year after the Air Jordan 6 first released, and was an instant hit around the country. Throughout the commercial there are people singing the words “If I could be like Mike!”, which is where the sneaker draws its inspiration.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro NRG “Green Gatorade” is slated to release this upcoming December 30 for $225.00 USD. Keep it locked for any further release information on future releases of the Air Jordan 6 Retro.
