NBA Players Since 2000 With Non-Nike, Reebok, Adidas Signature Shoes

Signature shoes have been around for decades and the biggest companies have created the most memorable models. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t competition and today, there is more than ever. Here is every player with a signature shoe from outside the big 3 over the last 25 years.

Grant Hill – Fila

Grant Hill was destined to be an NBA Hall of Famer, but injury issues made it so he was more of just a very good player. He had initially signed with Fila out of Duke and the company made seven shoes for him, the last two, the GH Runball and the Seize, were released after 2000.

Shane Battier – Oakley

Shane Battier was an odd fit for a signature athlete. He was a very good player, but more from doing the little things like playing tough defense and making smart passes. Oakley, largely known for its sunglasses, made the Antisole for Battier but that was his only signature sneaker.

Kevin Garnett – And1, Anta

Kevin Garnett has signature deals with four companies including Nike and Adidas. In between working with Nike and Adidas, Garnett had two shoes, the KG 2 and KG21 released by And1. Near the end of his career, Garnett was one of the first American athletes to sign with Chinese company Anta.

Chris Webber – Dada

Dada was a rising streetwear brand in the late 90s and early 2000s and they managed to get some of the biggest stars in the game to wear their sneakers. Chris Webber, who had previously been with Nike, saw the Supreme CDUBBZ dropped in 2002.

Luke Walton – L.A. Gear

L.A. Gear, a California-based company who had made signature shoes for Karl Malone in the past, was relauanched in 2003 and signed Los Angeles Laker Laker Luke Walton. The brand and the player would collaborate on one shoe: the Catapult Crossover.

Latrell Sprewell – Converse, And1, Dada

Latrell Sprewell signed with Converse early on in his career and also received one of And1’s first signature shoes, the Spree Mid. But his most well remembered shoe was the Dada Spinner which included spinning rims near the ankles.

Ben Wallace – And1, Starbury

While, Ben Wallace, a hulking big man known for his crushing defense and rebounding seemed like an odd choice to get a signature shoe, but he actually got one with two different companies. And1 released the Chosen One in 2007 and the Starbury Big Ben dropped in 2007.

Ron Artest – LA Gear, K1X, Protege, Ball’N

Ron Artest never had a shoe released with one of the majors but he did have four different companies make signature shoes for him. His sneakers included the LA Gear Ron Artest, the K1X Ron Artest, The Protege Signature, and the Ball’N Layup.

Shaquille O’Neal – Li-Ning

Shaquille O’Neal signed with Reebok upon entering the NBA, a move that helped revitalize the brand and help them to compete with Nike. Toward the tail end of his career, O’Neal signed a deal with Chinese company Li-Ning who released one signature shoe for the big man.

Luis Scola – Anta

Today, Chinese company Anta has an impressive roster of NBA players. Their very first, though, was Argentinian power forward Luis Scola who came into the NBA with the Houston Rockets. During his early days with the team,he wore his signature LS1’s.

Jason Kidd – Peak

During his early years in the league, Jason Kidd rebbed Nike and wore some of the 1990s coolest basketball shoes. Later on in his career, Kidd, who would play for 19 seasons, had a signature shoe from Peak released in 2008.

Dwyane Wade – Converse, Li Ning

Converse was the biggest brand the NBA for decades but lost serious steam in the 1990s. The company did pull off a coup in 2005 by inking Dwyane Wade to an endorsement deal. Converse would work fast and furious, releasing 5 signature models for Wade between 2005 and 2008.

Stephen Jackson – Protege

Stephen Jackson developed into a star-level player with the Golden State Warriors and his former teammate and close friend Al Harrington offered him a signature shoe deal. While the Stackjack was Jackson”s only signature shoe, they were do cheap and flimsy he had to stop wearing them.

Al Harrington – Protege

Al Harrington averaged a career-high 20.7 PPG for the Knicks during the 2008-2009 season and released a signature shoe, the A3H, from Protege, a company he formed himself, in the same time frame. The shoes had some significant quality issues and only one Harrington model was released.

Elton Brand – Converse

Elton Brand was a number one overall pick, and had a great career, winning Rookie of the Year and making two All-Star games. He signed a deal with Converse in 2008, and the company released three Brand signature shoes, the EB1, EB2 and EB3.

Monta Ellis – And1

Monta Ellis was a high-scoring guard for the pre-dynasty Golden State Warriors, earning a signature shoe with And1 that the company called the ME8 Empire Mid. Ellis would later be traded in a deal that brought Stephen Jackson and Andrew Bogut to Golden State.

Chuck Hayes – Qiaodan

Chuck Hayes was an undersized, undrafted big man who worked his way from the D League to the NBA. The Chinese company Qiaodan, which means Jordan in Chinese, signed him to a deal in 2011 and made him a signature shoe bearing his name.

Baron Davis – Li Ning

Li Ning, a Chinese apparel company formed by a former Olympian, made their first endorsement deal with Shaquille O’Neal and reached an agreement with two-time All-Star Baron Davis, producing three signature shoes, the BD Doom. BD Defend and the BD Conquer.

Brandon Jennings – Under Armour

Today, Under Armour is a major force in the NBA thanks to a smart partnership with Stephen Curry, But before Curry, the company signed Brandon Jennings an explosive point guard who could score and pass the ball. Jennings shoe was called the Black Ice.

Kevin Love – 361

361 is another Chinese footwear manufacturer looking to expand their brand by signing a top player. And they landed a nice one in Kevin Love, a five-time All-Star who won a title in 2016 with Cleveland. 361 made the Kevin Love 1 and the Kevin Love 1.5.

Jamal Crawford – Brandblack

Brandblack was a LA-based company who signed shooting guard Jamal Crawford to an endorsement deal, releasing three signature shoes for him between 2014-2016. The relationship would come to an end after that and Crawford would later wear Adidas.

Matthew Dellavedova – Peak

A Chinese company based in Quanzhou, Peak has been able to sign several high-level players to endorsement deals. Looking to expand, the company made a signature shoe for Matthew Dellavedova, one of the most prominent Australian players in the NBA.

LaMelo Ball – Big Baller Brand

LaMelo Ball was a superstar prospect whose domineering father, wanted to make some money from his son’s prodigious basketball ability. The Ball family started the Big Baller Brand and their shoes cost more than twice as much as a top pair of Nikes.

Jimmer Fredette – 361

A phenomenon while in college at Gonzaga, Jimmer Fredette’s game never really translated to the NBA. But Fredette would later become an MVP in the Chinese Basketball Association, making his partnership with 361 all that much more effective.

Dwight Howard – Peak

Dwight Howard entered the NBA as a superstar and had a prominent relationship with Adidas. Once that deal expired, Howard signed a deal with Peak who released three models of his sneakers. Howard would later play in China for the Taoyuan Leopards.

LiAngelo Ball – Big Baller Brand

LiAngelo Ball was never quite the talent his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo, but he still got a signature shoe even though he never played in a NBA game. He landed on his feet though, releasing a popular rap song and signing a major deal with Def Jam Records.

Spencer Dinwiddie – K8RIOS

Spencer Dinwidde auctioned off a series of his own game worn shoes to fund a new sneaker venture that he called K8RIOS. The brand released two models that Dinwiddie wore on court, the 8.1 and the Mark II, but none since 2019.

Rajon Rondo – Anta

Rajon Rondo was a two-time NBA Champion and a four-time NBA All Star playing from 2006-2022. He was one of the earliest NBA players to sign with Anta and the Chinese company dropped six models of the signature RR shoe from 2014-2019.

Lonzo Ball – Big Baller Brand

As the oldest of the Ball children and the second pick of the 2017 draft, Lonzo Ball had three signature shoes with Big Baller Brand. The talented point guard missed years of his career due to a serious knee injury but is back to being a productive player again.

Tony Parker – Peak

Tony Parker was an iconic player for the San Antonio Spurs, winning four NBA Championships during his Hall of Fame career. That, a long with the Frenchman being globally known, made him a smart choice for Peak who made seven models for the point guard.

Stephen Curry – Under Armour, Curry

No partnership outside of the big 3 brands has been more impressive than that of Under Armour and Curry. The apparel company signed Curry early on in their basketball shoe venture and he has grown into an icon, signing a lifetime deal with the company.

Langston Galloway – Q4, Ethics

Q4, a company based in Los Angeles, offered athletes a share in their shoe sales as well as creative control over what their sneaker looked like. That appealed to Langston Galloway, a guard who played for multiple teams, most notably the Knicks and the Pistons.

Joel Embiid – Under Armour

After their success with Stephen Cutty, Under Armour looked to add more significant players to their brand, signing Joel Embiid to a deal and releasing the Embiid 1 in 2020. Embiid would later leave Under Armour and sign a deal with Skechers.

Lou Williams – Peak

Lou Williams, a human microwave off the bench, was the NBA’s 6th Man of the year three different times while playing for seven different teams. Williams signed a deal with Peak and the brand dropped the Peak Underground in 2020 and the Peak Underground 2 in 2021.

Kawhi Leonard – New Balance

Kawhi Leonard is one of the league”s quieter superstar, playing in smaller markets before joining the Clippers and not doing much to promote himself. So it would make sense that he would partner with a company like New Balance who has made four signature shoes for the forward.

Isaac Okoro – Holo

Founded in 2020, Grand Rapids based Holo Footwear landed its first endorsement deal with Isaac Okoro, a super-athletic wing from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Okoro”s Holo Footwear 10.01 was released in 2024, the first signature shoe for him and the brand.

CJ McCollum – Li-Ning

CJ McCollum teamed with Damian Lillard for several years with the Portland Trailblazers and now plys his trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. McCollum first signed a deal with Li-Ning in 2022 with his latest release, the CJ 3, coming out in 2024.

Kyrie Irving – Anta

Kyrie Irving had a long and successful partnership with Nike, but that came to an end. When Irving signed with Anta, they didn’t just make him a signature athlete, they made him the Chief Creative Officer. His first shoe with Anta, the KAI 1 came out in 2024.

Gordon Hayward – Anta

Gordon Hayward was an All-Star with the Utah Jazz before signing with the Boston Celtics, where he suffered a gruesome injury in his first game. Still an effective player upon his return, the forward signed with Anta in 2020 and his signature shoe was the GH.

Klay Thompson – Anta

Playing together from 2011-2024, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined to form one of the greatest backcourts in NBA history. While Curry has a long-running partnership with Under Armour, Thompson has a long-running deal with Anta, dropping 10 models since 2015.

Jimmy Butler – Li Ning

Long one of the best players in the NBA, six-time All Star Jimmy Butler didn’t get his first signature shoe until 2022 with Chinese brand Li Ning. Since teaming up, Li Ning has produced three different models of their JB sneaker.

Jaylen Brown – 741

Jaylen Brown’s teammate Jayson Tatum has a massive deal with Jordan Brand, but Brown decided against signing with a major brand so he could create his own line called 741. So far the company has realeased the Performance Rover in 2024 with a new colorway coming in 2025.

Andrew Wiggins – Peak

The first overall selection of the 2014 Draft, Andrew Wiggins promising career had fizzled until he was dealt to Golden State where his career took off again. It was while with Golden State that Wiggins (now with Miami) got his own signature shoe with Peak.

Aaron Gordon – 361

Regularly considered to be the best current NBA player who has yet to make an All-Star game, Aaron Gordon helped the Denver Nuggets to the NBA title in 2023. In 2020, he become the first player to sign with 361, an English based company who released the AG sneaker.

Nikola Jokic – 361

361 signed its first NBA player in Aaron Gordon and that was a good get for a new company. But they hit a home run when they signed Gordon’s Denver Nuggets teammate Nikola Jokic, a three-time MVP. The 361 Joker model was first released in 2024.

De’Aaron Fox – Curry

Like Michael Jordan did with Nike, Under Armour allowed Stephen Curry to create his own brand within the company. The first player signed to the brand was De’Aaron Fox who has mostly played with Sacramento, but was traded to San Antonio this season.

Austin Reaves – Rigorer

Few players in recent history have a better story than Austin Reaves. In a few short years he went from going undrafted to signing a $50 million contract to play alongside LeBron James. And he recently got his own signature shoe with Chinese company Rigorer.

Scoot Henderson – Puma

Scoot Henderson was expected to be an immediate star and signed with Puma as a rookie. Things were a bit rough during his first year, but the point guard seems to be figuring things out in his second year and he”s doing so in his signature Puma Scoot Zeros.
