Unless you have been living under a rock, it won’t be a surprise that Nike’s FlyKnit technology has taken over. Behind scientific research, Nike aimed to create a light and strong upper. It debuted in 2012 and boomed in popularity during that year’s Summer Olympic Games.

While it began with the runners, the woven material is now available in soccer and football cleats as well as basketball shoes. Most notably, the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Kobe Bryant has 3 models in his signature line – 2 of them being constructed with a FlyKnit upper. FlyKnit is an evolution from its classic FlyWire which focused on staying light and sustaining a dependable support. Don’t forget the Nike Hyperdunk showcased Nike’s FlyWire.
