Kanye West once rapped “Hold up, I ain’t trying to stunt man but these Yeezys jumped over the Jumpman”. That line speaks about West’s success with Nike and his Air Yeezys collaboration. French artist John Nouanesing used the Air Yeezy 2 as an inspiration for three legged armchairs.
The Yeezy 2s came in three colorways. The Red October, Solar Red, and Pure Platinum colorway make their way to armchairs. The legs of the armchairs look to be the iconic square gold lace tips. Unfortunately, at this time the chairs will only be a concept and you can drool over the photos.
We’ve seen artists turn Air Jordans into gas masks but these chairs could actually be useful and artsy at the same time. I know most kicks fans will say they hate the hype and aren’t interested but imagine heading into your dentist and seeing these chairs. It’s a guaranteed Instagram selfie waiting to happen. At this point, unless he patented the idea, expect someone to steal the idea and turn the concept into real life.
Of course as Kicksologists, we wonder what other kicks would make great looking chairs, sofas, or other pieces of furniture. I can easily see the Air Jordan X and XIII become fashionable pieces.
