Under Armour Curry One | First Impression

Cushioning

Next up on the Curry One is a new cushioning setup named Charged cushioning. Charged cushion is what Under Armour calls “an adaptive foam” which means that the foam reacts in a plush and soft way to give you a comfortable feeling while standing around or under less force. When more force is applied such as “in game situations”, the foam becomes more sturdy and firm. The Curry One features a Micro G carrier (purple/green portion of midsole on Dark Matter) and a layer of Charged foam on top of the Micro G carrier (blacked out portion of midsole on Dark Matter colorway). Personally, I can already feel that the foam is very soft under less pressure and force just from the initial try-on. On top of that, I believe that the foam will provide adequate impact protection while playing in them as the foam indeed does become more firm when jumping around in the Curry One. There is a noticeable difference within the two different times. Overall, Charged cushioning is definitely not as soft or plush as Micro G (from experiences and playing in Micro G and trying on a Charged foam, not playing in a Charged foam) but Charged foam is going to definitely be adequate.
