Well, well, well… Nike came out of the woodworks for this one.
Just as we say goodbye to Kobe Bryant in his last season this year, Nike Basketball has brought a new model to the floor. Not that it’s a surprise, but these bring a lot of the old flavor with the new. For the first time Nike is hooking up Kobe with a shroud very similar to Gary Payton’s signature line, The Glove. And when I say similar, it’s pretty damn identical.

Back in 2011, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI was introduced and instantly became a favorite for on court rotations. The Kobe VI had supreme traction and one of the best cushion set ups from a Kobe sig. That same tooling returns as the Kobe Icon’s share that midsole and outsole which is guaranteed to lure old Kobe heads into purchasing this sneaker. Adding a new look to the line the added shrouded for the upper that covers the lacing system and tongue.
Coming from a Kobe fan, these are a surprise. I did not expect Nike at all to release a new model this soon with all the buzz on the new Kobe 11 signature model. The Tan colorway is expected to drop January 15th. There is no official price yet on this model so make sure to stay tuned here on Kicksologists for all the latest info.
