Looking to bring a ring to “The Land,” Nike is improving the thirteenth signature model for LeBron James. In search for his 3rd NBA Championship, King James will need it all to knock off the powerhouse in Golden State (Oakland). Usually the shoes are unveiled together (Kobe, LeBron, KD) but Durant’s was unveiled first. Earlier in the year, rumors speculated that the Kobe XI will not get an Elite makeover but we have to wait and see.
Last week, Nike unveiled Kevin Durant’s upgraded footwear with a built-in sock. Against the San Antonio Spurs, KD already debuted the new model.
Upgrades and innovations from Nike News:
The key technical upgrades to the LEBRON 13 Elite come through a durable Kurim cage upper, carbon fiber shank, full-length bootie and two additional hexagonal Zoom Air-sole units on each shoe (six total per shoe). Designed to work in tandem, these elements create a stronger and lighter shoe built for the season’s stretch run.
These, in combination with the Kurim cage upper, carbon fiber shank and Zoom Air-sole units, realize three key benefits:
1. Dynamic lockdown
2. Optimal stability
3. Articulated, responsive cushioning
Like always, the model will release in three colorways, with release dates spread out throughout the NBA Playoffs. The first colorway to launch will be the red on April 14. The white pair will release May 5 and May 26 for the black colorway. For fans interested, you can find the shoes on Nike.com and select retail locations.
