Nike KOBE A.D. NXT University Red

The Nike Kobe A.D. NXT has flown under the radar since its debut.  Whether or not the sneaker is doing great in the retail market is a story for another day, but we do know Nike Basketball has more in store for the line.

Granted that Kobe Bryant is retired, the line will continue to evolve in the next coming years.  This all new iteration for the Mamba is dressed in the familiar University Red color scheme with a mix of Crimson and Black detailing.

Known for no laces in a traditional sense, the NXT model wraps around your foot like a sock with a Flyknit fabric that is strong for proper support.  The customizable toggle system brings your foot down to the footbed allowing great containment for the user.  A combination of Lunarlon and Nike Zoom Air in the heel provides comfortability and a responsive cushioning experience for any player type on the court.

Just like the NBA, sneakers will continue this hybrid route of cushion and design as the sport evolves.  Long gone are the sneakers made specifically for big men and players.  It’s either you push the ball up the court, play defense, shoot, and rebound the ball.  Posting up is gone, so just like the laces, the future could certainly have automatic laces.

Check out the photos below for more and expect these University Red A.D. NXT’s to drop at Nike retailers on July 15, 2017 for $200.00 USD.
