Nike’s annual 3on3 basketball tournament will be held this weekend at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles and as we all know, while the City of Angels belongs to Kobe Bryant, there is a new young buck with fresh springs in his legs who is chasing that top spot. Blake Griffin erupted onto the scene last season in his rookie campaign as an NBA player, bringing that star quality back to the Los Angeles Clippers with his nightly highlight bonanzas and showing the “big brother” Lakers that the Staples Center doesn’t purely belong to the Purple and Gold anymore.
To commemorate this weekend’s Nike 3on3 festivities, Kicksologists has learned that the Nike Vault at the Staples Center will be launching a very limited and exclusive campaign themed around Blake Griffin and his Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 10.0 PE, the ones he wore en route to becoming the Sprite Slam Dunk champion, among other surprise releases. While I can’t reveal too much, all I know is that if you’re a big fan of all things Nike and Big Blake, you will kick yourself in the face for missing out on this special launch that will only be held at the Nike Vault.
