Being considered “timeless” is a feat that not too many things qualify for in the world of fashion. As we all know, the original Air Jordan sneaker line is one of those fashion juggernauts that has withstood nearly 30 years of trend evolution. Think about that for a second. Obviously, the time table gap narrows down closer to 2011 as you progress through the line, but still, we’re talking more so about the Jordan brand in general. The Air Jordan 5 Black/Metallic Silver definitely has a huge hand in keeping that momentum strong.
This classic colorway features a black nubuck upper that works together with a cool iced-out translucent outsole. Metallic silver peaks provide a touch of flash to the black midsole while a 3M tongue hosts a red Jumpman logo. The clear mesh netting on the side panels compliment the delectable outsole very well on this build and with not much in the way of excessive design elements, this colorway can hold up with most, if not all possible outfit combinations you can think of.
As for basketball shorts, I’d pair these with these the Jordan Retro 5 Short. I know it’s a natural choice, but I believe in that good old mantra that many athletes live by: “If you look good, you feel good, you play good.” A more subtle match would be the Jordan Mesh Short or even the Jordan Retro 3 Short. You could also keep it real clean and tight and rock the Jordan His Airness T-shirt or the Jordan Stadium Club Tracky Jacket. Just some recommendations!
