For those who do not know, Bo Jackson was a great pure athlete. He played baseball and football professionally in the MLB and NFL. While playing for Auburn University, he won the Heisman Trophy in 1985. Nike took the opportunity to grab this young star and to market him to the masses. The “Bo Knows” ad campaign took off in 1990 which promoted his cross-training shoes.

As Nike has decided to honor Jerry Rice, this time is Bo Jackson’s turn. If you are a true Bo Jackson fan, you are going to be excited about the Nike Air Trainer SC “Broken Bats”. This shoe features the Kansas City Royals’ colorway with the mixture of light blue, royal blue, and white.

The best characteristic will have to be the tongue which shows a 90s arcade version of Bo Jackson cracking his bat over his knee. He hated striking out, and then he would break his bat in half to show his displeasure. To add detail, Jackson’s number 16 will also be stitched into the heel. These will definitely be called the “Broken Bats” as the translucent outsole will display “Broken” on the right shoe and “Bats on the left.
