We are living in a time where sneaker technology is at its all-time high. Many brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, and Under Armour are debuting new tech for the upcoming NBA season, but adidas is doing something special with Boost. Derrick Rose has been wearing the newest Rose 5.0 during Team USA’s FIBA exhibitions, but this new colorway strikes fast with a simple black and white silhouette.

If you haven’t tried on adidas Boost in the runners, you are missing out on the craziest foam cushion yet. I haven’t been excited for a sneaker since the Kobe 7 because of the new perks of tech as it had interchangeable inserts. Gimmicks are interesting, but that interest disappears once you realize it doesn’t do what it promises. Keyword here is ‘functionality’. We know that Boost works wonders in the running category, but will it be just as effective on the hardwood? Of course it will. adidas has done years of research to develop this tech and translating it to other sports is the goal.
This new Black and White Rose 5.0 offers a sleek new look for the Boost model. The upper is decked out in a synthetic overlay that features a satellite print of ‘Chicago’ city, reminiscent to the adiZero Rose 2.5 (for those who remember). White trim contrasts throughout with a beautiful translucent tinted outsole for a slick look. Good news is, adidas will give include a full-length Boost cushion unlike the other boost model, the Crazy Light Boost where it only lies in the heel.
No info yet on when this color will release, but the adidas Rose 5.0 will release on October 23 for $160.00 USD.
