Kevin Durant has had a great run with his KD 9 this past year. Arguable his best signature sneaker yet, the KD 9 instantly became the leagues favorite shoe to wear on court. With the season coming to an end, it’s about that time to reveal his next upcoming sneaker, the KD 10. We have our first look at the sneaker releasing this Summer.
Hard to believe that ten years have passed for Kevin’s series. In 2014, Durant resigned with Nike for 10 years with a deal reaching up to $300 million. His line has been quite successful for Nike, especially this past year with the KD 9. However the KD 10 looks quite similar to the KD 9. All the tooling looks to be the same with the Air Max Zoom and Flyknit upper. A suede material cages the sneaker with a premium look adding extra support for the wearer.
Perhaps Leo Chang and KD enjoyed the KD 9 quite a bit resulting in the simplistic clone of the KD 9 as the newest signature. The Kobe series has kept the same silhouette for many years as it simply worked for Kobe during his career. Throughout the years, the KD line has somewhat changed in identity. From the KD 4 to the KD 6, lead designer Leo Chang pushed the limits of his Durant’s brand.
Fans will also be receiving a new box this year with the large X on the new gold packaging. It is also great to see Nike Basketball release the sneaker during the NBA Finals. It would be quite odd if the Warriors didn’t make the Finals as Durant would probably play in these the first chance he gets against LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
The Nike KD 10 is scheduled to release on June 2, 2017 for $150.00 USD. We’ll keep you posted for more info on upcoming colorways and drop dates as they become available.
