The Nike Kobe A.D. continues to lead the league as the most worn sneaker in the league. Not only do Lakers players Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, and Josh Hart rep Lakers Nation, but other players like John Wall, Andrew Igoudala, and DeMar DeRozan as well. With that said, Nike Basketball will be paying tribute to the Black Mamba with this exclusive Kobe A.D. model for the jersey retirement ceremony.
Hosting the Golden State Warriors on December 18, the Lakers will have the five-time champion, Kobe Bryant in the house as they his No. 8 and No 24 jerseys in the rafters. This historic will have much attention of the world and as a result, Nike Basketball has decided to drop a unique “Black Mamba” theme jersey and sneaker combination.
Paying homage to his alter ego “The Black Mamba”, this theme sports a simple Black and Yellow combo. The Nike Kobe A.D. Mid will have “Black Mamba” etched out on the tongue with a snakeskin pattern on the upper. To contrast, Nike brings back the Gold Yellow/Del-Sol to the Swoosh, outsole, and insole.
This Nike Kobe A.D. is accompanied by the Lakers Nike jersey as their first “City Pack” releasing on December 23 joined by the KD 10 and LeBron 15 and ultimately other signature models. Stay tuned here for more information for release and pricing as it becomes available.
