The Nike PG 2 was revealed this past weekend. Odd that it was on a Saturday, but regardless the news of the newest Paul George sneaker is now out. The “PlayStation” PG 2’s are set for next month, but the first images of these “OKC” PG 2’s are now out in detail.
As we all know, Paul George has the option to be a free agent this Summer 2018. Until then however, the 4-time All-Star remains in Oklahoma City with Russel Westbrook contending for that Western Conference Finals spot. Obviously, the biggest prize is an NBA championship and hopefully he gets to do it in style in the Nike PG 2.
The design of the Nike PG 2 is along the lines of his first signature sneaker the PG 1. The PG 1 became an favorite amongst his peers and fans alike. Many players like John Wall and Gary Harris are only a couple of NBA players who rocked the PG 1 religiously throughout the season so far.
Nike designer Tony Hardman, this new design strays away from the strap but includes a set of “dynamic wings” in the forefoot allowing for the same containment. They also switched the Zoom bag from the bottom to the top allowing the foot to sit right above the new 10mm Zoom bag for ultimate responsiveness and bounce. This is great as most of the Zoom bags today are bottom loaded having a bit of foam in between the foot and the cushion. Nike removed the bootie construction and instead went with a more traditional tongue. Many people had issues with getting them on so this definitely would help a lot. Lastly, the traction has also received an upgrade with a full 360 degree zonal coverage for any type of player. Not that the PG 1 was bad, but the PG 2’s are definitely looking to go beyond what they had the first time around.
This Nike PG 2 “OKC” colorway is done in the familiar Blue and Orange hits are seen throughout the colorway with a full on White/Orange outsole. You get suede on the side medial panels and also the tongue. A construction upper is also featured giving the sneaker a lightweight yet flexible ride for the user.
The Nike PG 2 “OKC” will be retailer for $110.00 USD at most Nike retailers and will release February 24, 2018. Keep it locked here for more and stay tuned for our performance review of the PG 1 and of course the PG 2 when it drops.
